The Chlein Schwarzhorn is the “small brother” of the higher Flüela Schwarzhorn. The peak is climbed mostly in early winter, when the Flüela Pass road is still open. As most of the slopes here are in the shadow, even a modest snow cover makes this tour possible. But note that in the Flüela Region there are many rocks. So maybe do not bring your newest skis for this tour when doing it early in the season.

The car can be parked at the Flüela Pass parking lot. From there there are pretty steep slopes leading to a valley just North of the higher Flüela Schwarzhorn. Then head North towards to peak skinning up the steep South face. As this is slope is sun-exposed it is usually to safe to climb. The final ascent can be made either by heading North over the East ridge or directly on the South ridge where the ski depot is made and one climbs over a few rocks to the peak.

The view from the peak, high above the Dischma Valley, is quite spectacular with the Bernina range peaking out in the South West. Heading down can be tricky (Rocks!) depending on the snow conditions. At the bottom there are actually quite long and steep slopes leading down to the Flüela pass.
