I have been on this steep peak many times in summer and in winter. In winter the peak is seldom climbed as the snow is mostly windblown. In early April 2026, André and myself gave it another try and we were rewarded by top powder conditions!!

The tour starts in Arvenbüehl (Amden) where there is a large parking lot. From there is only about 2-2.5 hours to reach the peak. The second half of the tour is quite steep and should only attempted in relatively safe avalanche conditions.

The picture below (taken from Fliegenspitz) shows the North side of Leistkamm. The ascent route is to the left through the small trees and then on the ridge. The descent follow usually the same route. But in good conditions one can also ski down the steep slope to the right (about 35-40 degrees).
