Still good powder at Zenji Flue (Davos)

Zenji Flue is an easy to reach 2685m peak from the Parsenn ski area. Usually one skies down the popular “Diretissima” where the powder is usually gone by the “heavy traffic” of the freeriders.

The ascent from the saddle (2567m, seen on the right in the picture above) between Zenji Flue and Weissfluh Peak ist easy and offers great views. A small challenge is the entrance into the steep Northerly slopes (see picture below).

The broad slopes towards the Barga huts offer great powder skiing even this time when it there was no new snow for about 2 weeks. After reaching the Barga huts one can then climb back up to Chistenstein (2473m) via the West ridge which depending on the snow conditions require some easy climbing. This time we skinned up to Duranna Pass and skied down for the Schifer Gondolas which take you back to Weissfluhjoch.

Highly recommended and fairly easy ski tour very close to the Parsenn ski area. More informationon the tour here.
